I think it works best because percentages help you figure it out in your head. For example, I have $30.00 and I go to a small restaurant. I order a dish that costs about 20% of the $30.00 I have. What would the answer be? Well to me, I would multiply $30.00 • 20%. Don't forget to turn 20% into a decimal. Then you just multiply, and your answer should be 6.0000, which means that the entree costs 6 dollars.

Even though I picked percents, this does not mean that ratios are worth less. Ratios and percentages are quite similar to another, but they also have their own differences. They are different forms of fractions, but they also have their own steps to follow. Of course, everyone has their o
