Throughout this whole week, it's always about viral videos. Not too long ago, everyone's been talking about something called the Harlem Shake. When I first heard it, it sounded like something from Harry Potter. But then it turned out to be a new dance and a song.In my opinion, mostly the guys were interested about the Harlem Shake. I bet that there's at least ONE guy in every class who will mention "Harlem Shake" to everyone. I think that it'popularity will be something like "Oppa Gangnam Style." Very catchy, strange, and popular at first, but all of a sudden normal, annoying, and uninteresting the next. I still listen to Oppa Gangnam Style, but only when it gets on the internet.
Also, there's a new club/broadcast called "Computech Reacts." It's basically the "Computech" version of Kids/Teens/Elders Reacts! To be honest, I think that it should've had it's own theme. However, it isn't my right to choose, since I'm not part of it, but I'll support them anyway. Have a good weekend!

YES IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY! ..With rain. Why is it that every time there's a Leadership game, it always has bad weather? Anyways, today has been fairly good. The week felt long though. It's funny how I think that 4-day school weeks are long and that regular weeks are short.
So today has been a usual Friday. This morning, my friend and I were laughing really loud, and most of the eighth graders were staring at us like 'What the heck?' and we were just laughing. In art class, we were assigned to make a post card about a very big event in our lives. It could be sad, happy, unforgettable, etc. I made mine about when I went to Thailand two years ago. I visited my family back there, and spoke Hmong to them, since they don't know English. They only know a little bit, like saying hi or okay. Sometimes I teach them English, like what fruit they're eating or what equipment they use to play. In Thailand, there are rarely ever apples or grapes, or anything I ever ate. Instead, they had durian fruit, dragon fruit, bananas, lychee fruit, watermelon, and many more.
Anyway, to sum it all up, the post card is going to be pretty good. I hope that I get to finish it! Have a good weekend!

NOO! I can't believe that it's the last three day weekend! That means school.. FIVE DAYS A WEEK! FOUR IS ALREADY LONG ENOUGH! Oh well. At least it doesn't include the weekends.
I like having three day weekends because it means you have one day more from stress. You can relax, have fun, and not worry about grades. Unless you have homework. If so, you can cross that last one out. Anyways, I don't want the three day weekend to end. So do all the other students and possibly teachers. To students, that means no homework, no tests, no grades going down, etc, while to teachers, it means no grading, no teaching, no meetings (okay, maybe some meetings), and others. Three day weekends are great for everyone at school. It's enjoyable, and better.
This weekend, I am going to enjoy myself to the fullest, and make sure that the weekend lasts. I'll make it seem really long if I have to. Turn back the time purposely maybe.. Just kidding! Anyways, I hope that your three day weekend goes great, and have a great Friday!

I'm really excited for next Wednesday! On Wednesday, February 6, it's my birthday! On that day, I'm going to my dad's house, so me and my mom are going to a Chinese Buffet this weekend instead. Speaking of the weekend, the Super Bowl is happening on Sunday. I'm a Niner's fan, but my dad is rooting for the other team. I hope the Niners win!
Since I'm staying with my mom this weekend, we're going to a new Chinese Restaurant that just opened, next to Red Lobster. We live really close there, and we're going to go on Sunday. That means that we're going to go eat AND possibly watch the Super Bowl at the same time! Good idea for an early birthday. I'm not getting presents this year, which is okay for me, because at least we get a celebration. Hopefully we can go to somewhere else too!
As you can see, the weekends is going to be a fun event for me. I can't wait until school ends so I can go home. See you next week and hopefully you can have a fun weekend too!

I think that Ribbon Hero is a very fun and better way of learning Microsoft. Unlike the video tutorials, it let's us use the tutorials that gets us more interested. It's like a puzzle game.
The one that helped me more with the material are all of them. Since we're all learning about Word and Powerpoint, the Powerpoint steps let us learn more and understand it better. I think that the hints help me understand it better, because even though I didn't use most of them, when I got stuck and couldn't understand it, I click on the hints once in a while, and when I get frustrated because I couldn't get it, when I clicked the hint, my expression would be like "Oh.." when it makes sense. Also, since it was more frustrating, it helps me remember my mistake which makes it stick in your brain. I'm not sure what the question "Which one better transferred the learning to using Office without the tutorials is?" means, but I'll respond with what I think it means. In my opinion, I learned better because unlike the video tutorials and the practice lists on the Microsoft website, this helps me know what I did right and what I did wrong. It signals me that I did it right by crossing the assignment off the list, and when I do it wrong, it gives me a little notification that says "STOP! You're going down the wrong way!"
Overall, I think that this is a better way of learning Microsoft, because it is basically a helpful "Hands-On" project. It shows us which is right and which is wrong, and it has a good story-line that helps the player get interested.

Today was a WAY better Friday than last Friday. I was laughing a lot today. My friends were so funny, and especially at lunch.
So at lunch it was sprinkling. We were watching the Super Throw down event after we ate. My friends were acting so silly, while I was cheering for the people I know. I saw several people playing, like Julia, and Zoie. I was having a lot of fun, watching my friends dancing to the music, and watching the other people play the game.
I'm looking forward to Monday because in CORE class, we're having a simulation on the Medieval monasteries and the monks. I like simulations, because it's really fun, and it's an easy "A." Also, on Monday, my mom is coming back from Thailand. She's been in Thailand for 3 weeks, and I stayed with my aunt or my dad. My mom went to Thailand because she had to stock up on some items for her shop, and she wanted to visit her family. I wanted to go to, but I had school.
So today wasn't so bad. It felt really long for a 4-school-day week. I hope that next Friday is possibly going to be better than this one!

Today's the first Friday since  Winter Break. So far, it's the usual boring Friday. I'm glad to see all my friends and all, but it's just plain normal. On the bright side, we get a 3-day weekend three times in a row!
So today all started by almost being late. I was really worried because I didn't want to start the quarter just for getting an F for being absent. Also, I wanted to see my friends, but it turns out they all had things to do at lunch. I have Homework Lab on Wednesday, which sucks because I don't want to stay in school for another hour. I mean, the school isn't bad, but you know.. it's school. Most students WANT to go home instead of staying and learning 24-7. This week besides Monday, Mr. Dorman hasn't been at school, and we have a substitute called Mrs. Dyre. She's really nice, and she's also really helpful. Half of my classes have substitutes. I guess the teachers want extra vacation.
Today was okay, and nothing's really wrong, but hopefully more Fridays are more exciting than this. Spring Break is a long time from now, at least 2 months. So hopefully, I will be able to be a better student and have more fun at school.

This Friday is going great! All my classes had a fun activity in them and I also got to watch Mulan and eat popcorn in my CORE class! I also had cookies during lunch from my friend, Nickie.
At lunch, me and my friends were watching a sled race, held by Mr. Ward and the Leadership team. The game is to be the first one to bring "Santa" back and forth to the goal. I saw a lot of my friends playing, and it was really funny. Some even toppled and fell over!
Currently, my computer class was being really noisy. They were talking about what's and what's not cookies. Also, my teacher, Mr. Kimbley, is putting on "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey. It sets a good mood in my opinion. Did I forget to mention that next week is Winter Break? Everyone is so excited! Especially me! Because of the Hmong New Year. I wrote about the Hmong New Year in another blog in Core Concentration. Feel free to check it out!
Today is currently, one of the greatest days ever! I hope that you guys have a great time with your friends and family on Christmas! Merry Early Christmas!

I think that the Asian teaching way was very clever. It motivates students to learn so they won't go up to the board, and it also helps them correct themselves.
One of the things that surprised me was the main thing: the student who couldn't do well had to go to on the board. The teacher kept on asking the other students if it was right or not. Basically, all the teacher did was ask the students. On the other hand, the student did it by himself. He was thinking about what was wrong with it, and was determined to make the others say yes.
I think this applies to the class because it shows how other people around the world are taught. It makes us students think, "Hmm..why did they do that? What was the purpose?" I also think that the reason Mr. Kimbley had us read it was to realize that  not all people were taught the same way. Some were taught the easy way, and some are taught the hard way. Sometimes, the hard way is what we learn from the most. Most people ignore the easy way, because they think "Pfft! This is easy! I'll remember this!" but when a test comes, the hard way starts to come. Soon you fail your test, which is the hard way.
This article taught me that people have different ways of teachings. Not all teachings are the same, and people around the world aren't taught the same way. So don't call someone stupid, or other names that says they're dumb, because it's just the way their taught. If they can't do it, then help them.

This Friday was okay. Except for the fact that my laptop is broken. It won't turn on, but I know it's not dead because the charger is still working. My laptop still turns on at times, but after an hour later it immediately turns off. I think it has something to do with my charger plug.
Anyways, my classes were okay. CORE class felt really long though. Usually, I have fun in CORE class because I sit next to my friend Analise. We usually goof around on our free time in class. However, today we had to do a worksheet about Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism. Also, we needed to watch a video about Chinese-Americans. I'm really freaked out about my science test next period. I studied, but I'm scared of mixing and matching the words. I did my science homework, and studied out of the pre-test, but I'm not sure if I'll pass. Hopefully I do well!
So today was a normal day. No rallies, no events, nothing. I'm going to my dad's house tonight and that's it. See you and have a great weekend!
